PPF Care 101

While paint protection film does not require highly specialized maintenance, it is still crucial to note that its longevity can be significantly affected by individual upkeep and care. Here are some tips to make sure your PPF continues to perform at its best.

  • Do not wash the vehicle for 48 hours following installation.

  • PPF takes time to fully cure. It is normal for some condensation to form during the first 30 days.

  • Do NOT use high pressure washers directly on the film’s edges.

  • Do NOT use powered polishing equipment on the film.

  • Avoid using aggressive chemicals that are corrosive or abrasive. If you are unsure of which product to use, STEK offers a comprehensive range of car care formulas developed for a variety of applications.

  • Remove any blemishes such as bug splatter, bird droppings, and other contaminants as soon as possible. These contaminants can quickly degrade the PPF and reduce its shine.
